The Pilot Club of China Grove-Landis was chartered in April, 1968.  We have 25 members, including two Charter Members.

We keep Pilot alive in our community with our service projects.  Our club has Halloween and Spring parties for a local retirement
home.  We hold the Spring Party around Easter and provide each resident with a “washcloth bunny” filled with candy.  China Grove-
Landis Pilots support our local schools by providing school supplies for their “supply closets” in January and providing the Jean
Jordan Memorial Scholarship to a graduating senior at both of our area high schools.  We hold a pantry shower for a local food pantry
and mission, a Christmas gift shower for a Christian ministry in West Virginia, and honor our local firefighters with cakes at one of their
meetings in the spring.

Our club has been active with BrainMinders since its beginning and we serve seven schools with approximately 5 classes of
kindergartners in each school.  Recently we had an opportunity to present the program to a group of up-coming elementary school
teachers at Catawba College.  Another favorite is our bear project.  We provide bears to local EMT organizations, Hospice, and the
Battered Women’s Shelter.  This has been an ongoing program for fifteen years.

We hold several
FUNdraisers during the year.  Our most successful projects are serving hot dogs and other goodies at Patterson
Farms during their Pumpkin Festival in October and making cheese logs before Christmas.  Our cheese logs have become very
popular in the area and people look forward to them every year.

We are very active for Pilot and our invitation for you to come visit us is always open.
